There are routes from Spain to outlying Spanish Islands such as Ibiza, Tenerife and Palma; also across to North African ports - a number to Morocco. There are also routes north across the Bay of Biscay to the UK.
Away from the stereotype lampooned in the TV show Benidorm, Spain is a very diverse mix of beautiful mountain ranges, Atlantic cliffs, unspoilt coves and even has its own desert in the Cabo de Gata national park. There are also the island territories of the Balearic Islands, the volcanic Canary Islands and the African cities of Ceuta and Melilla next to Morocco.
While the Mediterranean coast is generally warm, inland the central plateaux of Spain can be cold with snows in April not being unheard of. The North West corner has an Oceanic climate being next to the Atlantic but will still generally be warm through summer.
Spain has great cities both in the North and South, with culturally rich Barcelona being balanced by beautiful Seville and Granada.
